You don’t go out
You don’t eat
It won’t let you fall asleep
It’s just you in the movie theatre
You and the screen and the light and the dust specks
Forever settling
In your chest
At work, in the shower, under the sheet
Still watching
In line at the store, looking out the window, having a drink
Still watching
This movie will never end,
You'll just change the leading man.

I saw the fridge, I saw the table, I saw two chairs and out the window,
Some trees.
I saw the TV, I saw the bills, I saw the ashtray,
And a few leaves.
I saw the couch, I saw the mirror, I saw the painting,
Stormy grey skies.
I saw the wall, I saw the tile, I wished you were there,
And then I died.

Fingers seeing backs of heads
Lips touching cigarettes
Eyes feeling wet
Because of sounds, smells and tastes they can't forget.
You don’t go out
